I Saw No Fear...

      The media frequently spoke of the U.S. citizen's fear right after 9-11. I saw the people on the ground next to the towers being afraid. Being afraid of a building falling on you is prudent.

            But I looked around me and I saw no one afraid. I saw tears. I saw stoic and solemn. I saw anger. I saw outrage. More than any, I saw shock. I looked. For two weeks I searched the faces around me. There was no fear there.

            Where did they get that?

   Scientists: You Guys Want to Get On This?

         The scientist that wants their name to be remembered, not for fifty years, not for a hundred, but for as long as man survives on earth…

…needs to be the one that invents a way to render the world's nuclear weapons useless.

Fixing America's Reputation in the World

          I strongly disagree with the notion that we must somehow "right" ourselves in the eyes of the world. I don't think we should nod our heads, let alone bend over backwards in an effort to placate a neccesarily hypocritical world.

            Let's live up to our own standards, without "interpretation" of those doctrines written over two hundred years ago. They are standards that take the high road without using the route of stupidity.

            Our "reputation" will fall into place as we do so.

            As for the other nations that feel inclined to give us their unsolicited opinions on our business:

Before they seek to tell us what they think of our performance,

They must first ask what we think of theirs.

 Racial Advantages

       When the political stray was a child, there were printed encyclopedias that said that black people were not quite as good as white - in fact, their brains were even smaller.

      It took years to get that garbage taken out.

       Now we have people running for president that want to make "special allowances" for blacks.

        Tell me how this is different from saying their brains are smaller.

        I know no black person that needs special allowances made for them.

         Nor do I know any Native Americans, Asians, Hispanics or any other color that need special allowances for any percieved inadequacies.

         I do wish everyone would get with the program here. We have too much to do to keep indulging these outdated beliefs.

Don't you wonder why the candidates-politicians are surprised by how many poor, uninsured and unemployed people are turning out to vote?

Seems pretty obvious to me. If it weren't for politicians, many of them wouldn't be that way.

Am I Being Too Rash About Health Care?

            Everyone says Americans need better health insurance. Nonsense. Americans need access to reasonably priced health care.

            The tolerance for the overwhelming numbers of over-fed, do-nothing, middle-men make it appear that we are as stupid as we are represented in the media and advertising.

          Am I the only one noticing that whenever a public figure is caught being unfaithful, a large segment of the press is taking a "boys will be boys" attitude?

         They completely ignore the pain to the spouse inherent in these actions.

        What does this tell the young and weak-minded about our moral values?

        This promotes actions that can cause a lot of damage to a family. I don't think casual indifference to the pain of another is this country's way.

        In response to someone suing their mate for divorce for their infidelity, a lawyer on TV just commented:

"The courtroom is no place for vindictive actions!"

Does Dick Morris actually make a living just dogging the Clintons? Okay..he writes a few books and has that "join me or else" page...

But when is his vendetta going to be over?

Why does the mainstream media keep using this man on a mission to intentionally injure someone else?

Is there a market for hate in America?
